Spring 2019 | In collaboration with Jonathan Liang
Progress happens when society is forced to adapt to uncomfortable situations. EDWARDⓇ is a prototype for a mobile eco-lab that pushes the limits of human comfort. By the year 1999, EDWARDⓇ will have already made it a societal norm for americans to bathe while under observation. We believe that the systems incorporated into EDWARDⓇ will provide the public an in-depth experience of human cleansing using the natural systems of earth and within. EDWARDⓇ incorporates rainwater collection and photovoltaic technologies to power and sustain the hydrotherapy and various physiological treatments. Fish inhabiting the lower half of the structure assist in purifying the systemic procedures. EDWARDⓇ is also an educator, teaching observers and users about purification processes in the body by exposing what is mundane though typically left private or taboo. As you can tell, EDWARDⓇ is an agent of social, and ecological change. We hope that this can also serve as a site for baptism, hopefully bringing churches together and ending the divide of the Christian church. Invest in the future, invest in EDWARDⓇ.
